Description:
Few places in the world offer a more in depth view and appreciation of butterflies than Costa Rica. In a garden / park setting, butterflies are raised in a natural habitat. Hundreds of butteries flutter around flowers in an enclosed tropical garden. This Butterfly Farm exists to help preserve these fascinating creatures.
In the garden, butterflies live, feeding, mating and laying eggs. Visitors to this butterfly garden may touch the legs of butterflies and discover how they hold on to plants. There is also a caterpillar room where once the eggs are laid, the larvae emerge and need to be reared on their specific host plants. The entire cycle of metamorphosis is shown.
